New Zealand says ‘Good Morning’ to the entire world for 100 days in campaign via Special Group
Today marks the 100th day that a real New Zealander has said ‘Good Morning World’ to the entire planet. The project first launched 100 days ago via Special Group New Zealand and Special Group Australia.
New Zealand, the country known for being the first to see the sun each day, embarked on a project to say ‘Good Morning’ to the entire world every day for 365 days. And so far we’ve seen Kiwis doing everything from ‘mean’ bombs off a pier, swimming with dolphins, jumping out of planes and rolling around in Zorbs.
Says Tony Bradbourne, ECD, Special Group New Zealand: “Good Morning World” was always intended as a gesture to wake up the world in a positive way and to be a heartfelt invitation to discover New Zealand as a place and our people. And so far over 50 countries have said ‘Good Morning’ back”.
Says Brodie Reid, director of marketing, Tourism New Zealand: “It’s incredible to see people from all over the world comment on the videos and tell us how much they love hearing from Kiwis all over the country. It really is an amazing way for New Zealand’s welcome to be felt beyond our shores.”
With 100 days complete, the project has already proven to be a beautifully honest reveal of genuine personality and charm of the country.
Says Tom Martin, ECD, Special Group Australia: “What’s great about Good Morning World is you can not only see how stunning New Zealand is as a place, but you can really feel who New Zealanders are. Good Morning World is sometimes funny, sometimes serious but always heartfelt”.
Each day Good Morning World starts as a social post on all of Tourism New Zealand owned channels and then is quickly shared and spreads around the world across all mediums including digital, TV and outdoor.

I love this. Beautiful expression of the brand and a huge production commitment that the client didn’t shirk from. The kind of idea that only wins with great creatives as well as suits. Nice one, Special ones.
Love this campaign, being invited makes it less about just being a tourist.
