Mycar Tyre & Auto powers Aussie communities through EV generosity with ‘The Chargers’ launch via TBWA\Sydney and Eleven
In an innovative and timely move, mycar Tyre & Auto has launched “The Chargers”, a new initiative powered by community spirit and cutting-edge EV technology. Partnering with TBWA\Sydney and Eleven PR, mycar is calling on Australian EV owners equipped with vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities to join the effort, using their EVs to bring battery power to communities in need during natural disasters.
‘The Chargers’ initiative has launched through a powerful campaign directed by Lachlan French, featuring the stories of three Australians who have previously experienced the impact of power loss following natural disasters. Through their real-life experiences, the campaign showcases the simple but crucial comfort that access to power brings – whether for a baby monitor, medical device, or even just a phone to check in with loved ones.
As part of its “People First” mission, mycar recognises the vital role of electricity in maintaining well-being during emergencies. The Chargers will trial this summer across NSW, VIC, QLD, and the ACT, with EV owners volunteering to visit affected areas once conditions are safe. By plugging critical devices directly into their vehicles, these volunteers help to bridge power gaps, offering comfort and essential resources to those recovering from disaster.
With hopes to integrate “The Chargers” into broader recovery strategies, mycar’s initiative is a promising example of how EV technology can be harnessed to serve Australians beyond traditional transport boundaries. For those interested in joining the movement, EV owners with V2L capabilities are invited to register as Chargers today on the mycar website.
