More gongs as Goodoil director Michael Spiccia’s ‘Yardbird’ wins Best Australian film at Flickerfest

Yardbird.jpgYardbird, directed by Goodoil’s Michael Spiccia, has won Best Australian Short Film at Flickerfest in Sydney.

The accolade comes eight months after it  screened as the only Australian film In Competition at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

It is the tale of a young girl who lives in a wrecking yard and takes on the local bullies who travel out to torment her father. The script was written by Julius Avery and produced by Jessica Mitchell of Buffalo Films.

Yardbird was edited by Jack Hutchings of The Butchery, with cinematography by Adam Arkapaw, original music by Elliott Wheeler and VFX by Fin Design & Effects.
