Mitsubishi Motors Australia launches ‘Nothing Can Frighten a Triton’ campaign via Richards Rose
Straight off the back of record-breaking sales in 2018, Mitsubishi Motors Australia and Richards Rose have unveiled their latest campaign, ‘Nothing can frighten a Triton’.
Forty years on, the new Triton is stronger than ever with chiseled looks plus a rock solid 7 year warranty. Featuring Mitsubishi’s legendary four-wheel drive performance and loads of intuitive technology (MiTEC), it’s not afraid of a challenge.
Directed by Jonathan Nyquist of McFly the launch spot sees a mate take two-time Dakar Rally champion Toby Price for the ride of his life, just like a ghost train.
Says Adam Rose, executive creative director, Richards Rose: “Nothing Can Frighten A Triton is a distinctive and ownable platform that lives well beyond advertising. Whether on the worksite, off the beaten track, or in the dealership, it’s a confident statement that puts a smile on your face.”
Says Darrell Jacobs, head of marketing communications, Mitsubishi Motors Australia: “Triton is our highest selling vehicle and this latest model is our best yet. We’re excited by the new platform and what we have in the pipeline.”
The campaign bursts on to all broadcast and social channels with a ground-pounding track composed by Grammy Award-winning remixer Dennis White.

Great line for the target market. Great improvements to the appearance of what was Australia’s ugliest ute. This will do well. Not sure anyone who doesn’t read press releases will know who the passenger is. Not sure they’ll care.
This is good. Nice concept. Well executed.
shits about to go down…..see below
Apart from the absence of a V6 engine
Nice. Well done.
They’ve come a hell of a long way since that “It’s a Mitsi” crap. You’re right Ballsy, it’s ballsy.
nothing like cheap 80’s styled advertising…the carnies will love it, ya
all the look and feel of Nutri Grain ads….. from 20 years ago 🙁
…it’s memorable?
No female-identifying representation either. How unsurprisingly archaic.
Are women the prime customer base that buy and drive UTES!? How about the ASX that advert only has woman in it! How sexist, right!
Good ad for workplace methamphetamine too.
Look – I can’t be certain, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this is insulting to men.
MEN MEN MEN
TRUCKS TRUCKS TRUCKS
SMASH SMASH SMASH
Please…
Blokes, Utes, bad 90’s VFX – nailed it!
And that’s why I like it.
Right down to the 90s rap-n-roll soundtrack. All that’s missing is a 75 megalitre can of Monster Energy Drink.
That’s Brad Urba’s voice I hear and he gets no credit?
Love the commercial. Good job!
