MIK Studio breaks records and gives kids a voice for Nickelodeon’s 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards

After a year-long process MIK Studios is proud to announce that its latest client Nickelodeon has achieved massive success with the voting platform for the 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards.

MIK Studio has broken global records employing its MIK Engage platform for the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards this year — resulting in one of the largest real-time voting experiences in the world. Receiving over a hundred million votes for category voting across 34 different regions, this year’s results boasted a global voting increase of +143% YoY and INTL +251% YoY.

Says Luke Larsen, lead developer at MIK Studio: “The technology behind MIK Engage was meticulously designed to handle massive volumes of data while delivering real-time results. By integrating advanced algorithms and leveraging cloud infrastructure, we ensured that the platform could seamlessly handle the surge in traffic and provide a flawless experience for both users and broadcasters.”

MIK Engage can cope with up to 5.7 billion votes per day, and for the Kids’ Choice Awards delivered live results that were shared directly to the show broadcast. Two live votes occurred, resulting in almost two times the amount of votes from 2023, and were received across 25 different localised language sites.

The result has been a truly global experience according to MIK Studio founder Adam Callen: “We are incredibly proud of what MIK Engage has achieved. Our platform has transformed how audiences interact with live events, providing real-time, reliable, and scalable voting solutions. Seeing it successfully manage millions of votes across 34 countries is a testament to the talent we have in Australia, and particularly in Adelaide.

“It shows that we can compete on the world stage.”

Founded as a visual production house servicing the international music industry in 2000, MIK Studio has since transformed into a full-service global creative powerhouse working across music, advertising and video.
