Goodoil director Michael Spiccia’s ‘Yardbird’ shortlisted at 65th Cannes Film Festival 2012

One of only 10 films to be selected from over 4,500 entries, it will compete for the prestigious Palme D’Or Short Film Award and a Jury Prize.

Filmed on location in Talbot & Clunes in regional Victoria in January of 2011 with VFX done by FIN Design and Fuel VFX, ‘Yardbird’ was supported by Screen Australia’s Short Film Completion Fund.

The film is about a young girl who lives in a remote wrecking yard that takes on the local bullies when they travel out to torment her father. The film’s producer is Jessica Mitchell and the story is written by Julius Avery from Exit Films.
