MFA and Communications Council announce closer ties with reciprocal seats on the board
The Media Federation Australia (MFA) representing media communications agencies, and The Communications Council, the representative of the marketingcommunications industry, have reached an agreement that will see the Communications Council and the MFA to more formally align on industry issues and opportunities.
The formality of this collaboration will be provided by each industry body offering reciprocal rights on the respective boards.
As part of the association, Daniel Leesong, CEO Communications Council, will be appointed to the MFA Executive Board, currently headed by MFA president Henry Tajer (pictured) whilst Peter Horgan, OMD, continues to represent the MFA on the Communications Council board.
Tajer said: “This is an important step for both associations and one that is the culmination of several productive discussions over recent months. We look forward to contributing to issues affecting our industry and the increasing ability to promote and defend the interests and rights of our members.
Chairman of the Communications Council Board, Anthony Freedman said: “The forging of closer ties between our two bodies is a major milestone, and a move towards a stronger and more unified voice. We established the Communications Council on the premise that together we are stronger, and with the MFA committing to that vision, that principle is proving well founded.”
