Dormand will take the reins of the agency’s overall business capability and direction, while Mercer will focus on business development and new clients, greater industry involvement and fostering senior client relationships.

Says Mercer: “Julie has been an integral part of the agency for the past 10 years, and she is not only eminently capable as a leader, she is also a major contributor to the evolution of our agency and the industry as a whole.”

Dormand commenced her career at MercerBell as an account director, progressing through to become general manager in 2010. In addition to heading up the client relationships and account management team, she focused on introducing new operational structures in line with the agency’s growth. Prior to MercerBell, she worked at Lowe Lintas and on the client side at Merrill Lynch HSBC.

Complementary to her work, Dormand has been actively involved in ADMA, including two years on the NSW Committee and as a speaker at The Forum and to certificate students. She is also a member of the businesswomen’s association, Network Central.

“Julie is a role model to our staff, for women in the advertising industry and in business in general,” Mercer said. “Her appointment as Managing Director will take us to a new level, both in our structure as a business and in terms of the range and depth of service we deliver for our clients.”
