Media agency UM teams with Ensemble to produce large interactive 3D chalk drawings for Sony Pictures ‘Underworld Awakening’
On behalf of their client Sony Pictures Releasing, media agency UM has teamed with sister company Ensemble to produce a series of large interactive 3D chalk drawings to promote the January 26 cinema release of “Underworld Awakening” in 3D.
The fourth installment of the highly successful Underworld movie franchise has just opened to Number 1 at the US box office and Sony Pictures aims to create the same success in Australia with unique and original marketing activity like these chalk drawings.
The chalk drawing using a 3D effect attracts fans by creating the illusion that they are ‘entering the Underworld’. Fans can have their photos taken interacting within the artwork, which are printed instantly as a take-away, as well as being uploaded to their own or Sony Pictures’ Facebook page prompting social sharing. The interactions are targeted to high pedestrian traffic areas including Melbourne’s Federation Square, Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall and Parramatta Mall.
Client: Sony Pictures Releasing
Project: Underworld Awakening
Agencies: UM and Ensemble
Artists: Anton Pulvirenti and Rudy Kistler

Maybe the photography is what blows about this, or the lack of an idea, or the fact that the chalk drawing isn’t interactive or maybe…
Fangs for the feedback.
Yes there is an idea and yes it is interactive. It looks to me like they are definately interacting with that media, are they not interacting with that media, yawn? Jesus christ grow up you miserable ****.
Wow! Awesomeness
@smile – it’s not a two-way medium jackass so it is not interactive. As far as the work being crap it is – the graphic is lame and if you are going to rip off an idea then at least elevate it. As far as the idea – please do tell us what it is.
Cmon okay I’ve seen it before, but it will do it’s job with the teenage photo twittering little rodents that will pay to see it. It looks cool and will work it’s arse off for what it costs to produce so stop the hating,
