mc1.jpgMulti-award winning wine producer McGuigan Wines, which recently claimed the title of ‘world’s best winemaker’ for the third time in four years at the prestigious International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC), has launched an awards campaign to capitalise on its unprecedented run of international success via Poloko Marketing Group.

mc3.jpgThe campaign, which officially launched on 25th November, is designed to raise trade and consumer awareness of McGuigan Wines by highlighting the award winning credentials of the brand, which is the only wine producer to have been awarded the title of International mc4.jpgWinemaker of the Year three times in the competitions 43 year history.

The campaign, which includes the new brand positioning of ‘Come on in’, will come to life across radio, trade and consumer print advertising, web banners, a newly launched microsite, mc5.jpginstore point of sale and ongoing public relations activities.

The radio push will feature a four week blitz across the eastern seaboard with MMM, Nova and 2GB, and include over 600 30 second slots across Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Canberra, Brisbane, mcbl.jpgGold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Melbourne. Featuring chief winemaker Neil McGuigan, the ad invites wine lovers to share in the success, and thanks them for making McGuigan one of the most awarded wineries in the world. The radio ad directs listeners to the newly refreshed McGuigan Wines website www.mcguiganwines.com.au where they are greeted with a show reel encompassing the new strap line ‘Come on in’, before being invited to join the McGuigan Vintage Wine Club or enter a competition to win ‘the ultimate Hunter Valley experience’.

Says McGuigan: “We’ve have had a hugely successful last four years in terms of our international recognition and accolades, culminating in McGuigan Wines being crowned International Winemaker of the Year at the prestigious International Wine & Spirits Competition in London last month. Awards such as these breed consumer confidence in our brand, in our quality, consistency and pedigree. We’ve got the ideal platform by which to engage with consumers and really grow our brand awareness and profile.”

Following the latest announcement and a host of recent international acclaim, McGuigan Wines can now be considered one of the world’s most highly awarded and decorated wine producers in recent history. In addition to three International Winemaker of the Year trophies, in the last four years McGuigan Wines has been named Australian Producer of the Year by the IWSC in 2009, 2011 and 2012, as well the ‘world’s best white winemaker’ by the International Wine Challenge (IWC) in London in 2009 and 2012.

Globally, the McGuigan brand jumped in popularity and demand, with volumes worldwide increasing by 17% to 2.5 million cases. Overall the McGuigan brand grew 23% in Australia and 12% across export markets.

Founded in 1969 the International Wine and Spirit Competition is the premier competition of its kind in the world, attracting entries from over 80 countries across the globe.
