Max McKeon set to depart Special Australia for executive creative director role at Ogilvy Sydney

Ogilvy Sydney has appointed Max McKeon to the role of executive creative director, with his tenure beginning mid-March.
McKeon (pictured third from left) will arrive at Ogilvy following a four-year stint at Special, where he joined as CD in 2021 and was promoted to group CD last year.
In his new position, McKeon will collaborate with ECD Bridget Jung, who continues to lead earned creativity across Ogilvy PR, Ogilvy Health, and Ogilvy One. He will also work closely with the agency’s broader creative leadership team, including Ogilvy Network ANZ CCO Toby Talbot and Chief Strategy Officer Fran Clayton.
Prior to joining Special, McKeon spent two years at Colenso BBDO working on renowned brands including DB Export, Monteith’s, Extra, Pedigree, Spark, and Eta, and led campaigns including “I’m Drinking it for you”, “Take a Baby Step into Parenting”, and “That’s Why”. Prior to that, McKeon spent three years at Saatchi & Saatchi New York where he was part of the team responsible for the highly awarded ‘It’s a Tide Ad’ Superbowl spot, which took out the Titanium Lion and the Film Grand Prix at Cannes Lions in 2018.
Before joining Saatchi & Saatchi New York, McKeon spent two and a half years at The Monkeys, and before that, had a five year copywriter role at Publicis Mojo Sydney.
Throughout his career McKeon has been awarded by every major award show around the world, with over 100 individual recognitions, and worked with world class brands including Uber Eats, Kayo Sports, Pepsi, Boag’s, Toyota, Nestle, Virgin Active, Telstra, NRL, Ikea and Proctor & Gamble.
