Madame Tussauds Sydney celebrates Dylan Alcott wax figure with interactive experience via Banter
Dylan Alcott AO is the latest great Australian to be celebrated at Madame Tussauds Sydney with the launch of his wax figure today. To create a greater comprehension of just how incredible Dylan is, Madame Tussauds Sydney has partnered with Banter to create a hybrid physical and digital installation called Serve Like Dylan.
Banter have created a stadium-like atmosphere and installed an exact replica of Dylan’s tournament wheelchair for people to sit on. Using kinect technology, guests will take a seat and listen to Dylan calling on them to have a go and see whether they can serve like him.
Says Matt Meszaros, marketing manager, Madame Tussauds Sydney: “Having Dylan at Madame Tussauds Sydney is truly an honour. What he has achieved on and off the court is undeniably remarkable. We thought what better way to celebrate Dylan than to let people be like him.
“Working with Banter has been an absolute pleasure, creating an experience that gives people the chance to serve like Dylan. We can’t wait to inspire the next generation of tennis players as well as have families from around the world interact with our latest experience.”
Says Patrick Rutkowski, creative technologist, Banter: “It’s exciting to work with the iconic institution Madame Tussauds Sydney and a key Australian figure like Australian of the Year, Dylan Alcott. This installation not only highlights Dylan’s incredible skills and achievements as an athlete, but is also inclusive by design. Creating an experience that all people can enjoy has been incredibly important to the team throughout the process and we are very happy with how it has turned out.”
The experience is now live at Madame Tussauds Sydney.
