Lustre Pictures’ directors and Digital Pulse launch ‘mo-video’ for its Movember team

fire.jpgTVC and digital content production company Lustre Pictures and its sister post company Digital Pulse have joined forces to support Movember, producing a special promotional video for their team’s charity drive.

Signing up to participate in this year’s fundraising, the charge is led by Mo-Sista producer Annie Kinnane (the team captain) and Mo-Bro and executive producer Brett Heil.

face.jpgSays Heil: “We are hoping to have about six of our team growing one dirty son of a mo but two of our directors have taken even more initiative to raise funds for men’s health.”

Two of the Lustre directors Richie Ellis and Johnny Lopez have donated their time and efforts to write and direct a spot especially for Movember. Featuring Brendan Donoghue (“The Square”, “Underbelly”, “All Saints” and the Academy Award nominated short “Miracle Fish”), the comedic spot follows a local bartender’s quest to grow the most exceptional moustache. Driven by envy, and desire, the barman goes to extreme lengths to out-do the moustaches of his beer-slugging patrons. In a series of twists and turns the audience will be regaled by his final hairy achievement.

Says Heil: ”The video was a lot of fun for everyone to make with nearly all the cast made up of the production and post team. We hope it contributes to the whole purpose of this worthy event, which is to build awareness and raise funds for men’s health, particularly prostate cancer and depression.

“Making content is what we do for a living and producing this video is our special way of drumming up donations.”

Heil said the team has a target to raise more than $3,000 during the month-long November event. The video will be sent out to their personal and business mailing lists and loaded up on the Lustre Pictures Facebook page and they are asking people to donate at least $5 if they like the clip and to share with their friends. All funds raised will be donated to Beyond Blue and The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Donations over $2 are tax deductible.

The Movember rules are for team members to start clean-shaven on November 1 and then grow a moustache over the month, producing their own badge of support for men’s health.

Lustre Pictures was launched in Australia and Asia last year as the production arm of award-winning Australian post and experiential facility Digital Pulse.
