Leonardo.Ai launches $50K Leonardo Imagination Fund: to empower global AI creative community

Leonardo.Ai has today announced the launch of its Leonardo Imagination Fund, a new microgrant program designed to empower artists around the globe to push creative boundaries with AI.

Through the Fund, Leonardo.Ai will provide up to $50,000 (USD) across five projects spanning disciplines including film, fashion, art, architecture and design. To nod to its Australian roots, one grant will be dedicated specifically to an Australian creator, spotlighting homegrown talent and championing the future of the country’s creative industries.

“The Imagination Fund is about unlocking ideas that push the boundaries of creativity and possibility. We want to give creators the freedom and support to take what’s in their heads and bring it to life in ways the world has never seen, opening up entirely new mediums of expression along the way,” says Dwyane Koh, Head of Creative at Leonardo.Ai.

The Leonardo Imagination Fund aims to celebrate creativity, make AI more accessible and open up new avenues of artistic expression and innovation that may not have been explored before.

A panel of leading creative voices will select the grant recipients, including:

“I’m very excited to be forming a creative partnership with Leonardo.Ai to explore ways ethical =generative AI can liberate and democratise cinema and shape a bright future for filmmakers across the spectrum of production. And I’m very much looking forward to participating in the Leonardo Imagination Fund, which seeks to unearth and encourage the creators of today and tomorrow,” says Australian Director, Alex Proyas.
