Last chance to book for This Way Up festival – kicks off tomorrow Tues, Aug 12 at Sydney’s MCA

Three days of insights, workshops, award shows and more start tomorrow at Sydney’s MCA This Way Up, Australia’s only pure play festival of creativity, kicks off tomorrow at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art – don’t miss your chance to hear from some of the world’s top creatives, industry trailblazers and innovators.

 

Headline speakers include Liz Taylor, Ogilvy Global CCO (New York); Chaka Sobhani, president and global CCO, DDB (London); Nilesh Ashra, founder and CEO, OK Tomorrow (Portland); and Damon Stapleton, co-founder and CCO, The Monkeys Aotearoa (NZ).

New sessions and fresh faces have also been added to the lineup. Creative technologist Nilesh Ashra, founder, OK Tomorrow, will host an interactive workshop on Day 2 (August 14) of the festival – Live Experimentation with AI: Going Deep, Getting Weird, Pushing the Limits – which is designed to foster creative collaboration and the exchange of ideas between creatives and media strategists. While AWARD’s much-anticipated The Work Behind The Work will feature a raft of industry heavyweights: Barb Humphries, executive creative director, The Monkeys, part of Accenture Song, Michael Ritchie, MD/owner, Revolver, and M&C Saatchi creative director Russel Fox and senior copywriter Daniel Borghesi, who’ll unpack the inspiration, strategy, and creative process behind two of 2024’s Cannes Lions-winning campaigns: ‘Play it Safe’ for Sydney Opera House’s 50th (Grand Prix) and ‘The Plastic Forecast’ for Minderoo Foundation (Silver). The festival concludes on the evening of August 15, with the Gold Pencil Award Party. Join Australia’s creative community as AWARD reveals the year’s most coveted creative accolades – the Gold and Special winners of the 45th AWARD Awards and the top student of AWARD School for 2024.
