CARLOS-SAVAGE.jpgAwarded New Zealand creative Carlos Savage (left) has been lured from Barnes Catmur & Friends, Auckland to US, Sydney.

During his four years under Toby Talbot and Paul Catmur at DDB New Zealand, Carlos won awards for most of the agency’s major clients including Volkswagen, Durex, NZ Coastguard, SKY, Cadbury and NZ Lotteries. In 2009 Carlos re-teamed with Catmur at indie agency Barnes Catmur and Friends.

Among other things, he’s responsible for the cult phrase “Get a perm” becoming part of the NZ vernacular from the Instant Kiwi ‘Doug’ campaign. He’s picked up gold, silver and bronze at all the Asia-Pacific ad shows and has had work accepted into Cannes, Clio, The One show and The Work.

Says Josh Moore, ECD at US Sydney: “Carlos is the perfect fit for US, he’s fun, a great bloke and genuine talent. We’re all looking forward to adding a new mate to the team.”
