Kim Ellison promoted to acting ECD role at Ogilvy NZ; Andrew Bergland joins as creative director
Experienced digital creative Andrew Bergland has been lured to a creative director role at Ogilvy New Zealand, while the agency’s retail creative director Kim Ellison has taken an acting ECD role while a replacement for former ECD Damon O’Leary is found.
Bergland has built a successful career across Asia, North America and Europe. With a career spanning 17 years he has lived and worked in New York, London, Tokyo, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Singapore, and most recently in Seoul, South Korea at Cheil Worldwide where he was Global ECD for the client Samsung.
Bergland’s career to date has involved working as the Creative Director and Executive Creative Director at international agencies such Wunderman, JWT, and BBDO on global brands such as Ford, BMW, and Vodafone. Along the way his ideas have picked up awards at Cannes Lions, D&AD, Effies, New York Festivals, Art Directors Club, Webby Awards, Red Dot and iF to name a few.

Do you get promoted to ‘acting’ ECD these days? What happens when they hire the new ECD? Does this guy get demoted to regular CD in the next press release?
