Director Joel Pront returns from the wilderness, emerges on Flint’s roster

Flint has welcomed Joel Pront to the director roster.

After spending a decade in the wilds, making documentaries about everything from sickle cell disease to modernist architecture and Cuban Jazz, Pront is ready to return to the real jungle – advertising. He’s polishing his awards, including two Cannes Lions, a Best in Show, a CLIO and an AFI nomination and looking for a chance to bring his legendary skills as a storyteller with a truly cinematic vision to your project.

Pront’s journey began editing a music video for an up-and-coming group called The Spice Girls. The song? Wannabe. The rest, as they say, is history. That global phenomenon didn’t just launch a cultural movement; it propelled Pront into the spotlight as an in-demand music video director and, soon after, a sought after force in advertising.

A master of practical and CG effects, brilliant with character, world-building and visual craft, Pront has worked on projects of every scale and subject, from handheld mockumentary to global brand campaigns. His superb aesthetics, his sense of scale and drama coupled with the intimacy of connection creates stories that don’t just reach audiences – they move them. Pront’s work strips away the noise to find that electric connection between brand and viewer, creating a message that sticks.

Flint EP Rachel Henderson puts it best: “In an era of endless content, Joel creates stories that cut through—the kind that make people stop, feel, and think. We’re excited to be part of Joel’s re-emergence into advertising. His body of work is incredible, and like classic vinyl, it never ages. Welcome, Joel!”
