I AM GEORGE launches in Australia with film series via Brilliant Films and Society Social
I AM GEORGE has launched in Australia, the latest range of premium red wines that express the history and life of winemaker George Wyndham. The range has launched with a short-film series via award-winning filmmakers Brilliant Films and creative agency Society Social, that tells the story of Wyndham’s life-less-ordinary based on his original 1834 diary.
Wyndham is considered one of the pioneers of the Australian wine industry and one of the first to plant vines in the country. I AM GEORGE is a range of bold and robust wines representing Australia’s wine regions that were best placed to extend the range. The new wines maintain the legacy of George Wyndham with a credible selection that appeals to those who are seeking something extra-ordinary.
I AM GEORGE worked with Brilliant Films and Society Social to share the stories of George and the depth and drive of his human spirit, in an artistic, and thought-provoking way. Each film explores George’s connection to classical elements within life and nature: the water that he crossed, the earth that he tamed, the fire in his heart and the air in the height of his nobility and poetic essence.
Says Steve Back, creative director and director for Brilliant Films: “Working on I AM GEORGE has been one of those rare opportunities to have amazing historical subject matter and the freedom to create these extraordinary epilogues of George’s life.
The biggest challenge we found was communicating George’s virtues from yesteryear to modern day in a way that would inspire and motivate a new generation. Throughout production we all felt as if we experienced his journey of reflective endurance, passion, persistence and arduous conditions, and we are all proud to be a part of that.”
Says Nick Waterman, writer and director of the I AM GEORGE film series: “These films are cinematic portraits of George Wyndham. I wanted to capture what felt to be his essence – his boldness, wildness and intense relationship with the elements as he created the legacy of his wines.
“While reading George’s diaries I was struck by the focus and tenacity in his work life, his connection to the land and the extreme dedication and love he had for his family. I leant heavily on his diaries, and the scripts are at times taken from or inspired by George’s own words.
“The wild beauty, scope and complexity of these I AM GEORGE films aim to immortalize George’s story through art – and through them, we celebrate his life.”
I AM GEORGE is available at leading Australian liquor retailers now.

1. No one will watch this
2. The guy makes wine. He is not a god
3. Maybe take the budget and time it took to make 5 longs spots and make one good spot.
Nice work, Backy!
If you are going to go down that path here is the benchmark :: https://vimeo.com/130844826

They’ve completely cooked this
what is going on
I could literally take the budget used for these grotesque videos, burn it all in a wheelie bin, film it and post it to YouTube from my phone and get more views than every video here combined.
What a mess.
