Us Sydney has today launched a new TVC for H&R Block.
The spot, directed by Paul Middleditch, lets Australians know that H&R Block are experts at simple and complex tax returns.
Says Phillip Hunt, H&R Block managing director: “Us Sydney have created an ad that delivers our business message in a funny and memorable way. They’re pretty good.”

…I actually tried. But I don’t. I think it’s quite clever and will probably work quite well.
Simple idea, nicely done. The dialogue is pure proposition read out, but other than one line that takes it a bit far ‘So they’ll get me the maximum … ‘, it all flows fairly naturally. Will work well I am sure.
Wonderfully simple.
This is greatness.
Unfortunately not at all funny.
really nice
made my day!
Alright. Stop posting US Sydney.
We know it’s you.
I think they need to pay abit of attention to the art direction…the last stunt, the bike just wouldn’t work that way! he’s peddling the bike backwards but the bike is moving forward?!
Even funnier if they had used receipt man from last year’s ad
Just to clarify Mr Not Funny, I don’t work for US Sydney and I’m not entirely sure I know anyone who works there personally. I just think it’s a wonderfully simple ad. Sorry for freaking you out with a positive opinion of a commercial I have no personal attachment to.
Why does the image look so dull / lifeless bland, looks like some early 90’s ABC kids tv show..
Great
Funny. Simple. Visual. Stand out. Isn’t that what advertising is all about?
I have nothing to do with US Sydney, and really like this spot. Well done.
We both like it.
Don’t we?
Yes, we do.
This is engaging and stands up to repeat views.
You recall the brand and the simple/complex premise. Job done.
Bravo.
Unfortunately no amount of anything they claim in TVCs or anywhere else will impress me. I missed out on my Stimulus payment of $900 because of an incompetent and rude member of the HRB staff. I did everything right, I just couldn’t afford to pay the accountant’s fee up front and I was later told (not by HRB) the accountant could have deducted their fees from the cheque.
They have no idea the hardship they caused me.
