Visual effects maestros Helen Clemens and Pete Commins new co-director team at Plaza Films
Visual effects maestros Helen Clemens and Pete Commins have come together as co-directors at Sydney-based Plaza Films in an exciting creative co-operative.
Clemens and Commins are already individually accomplished directors, designers and creators.
Commins has been directing commercials in the UK since 2004, where he has been collaborating with Michael Gracey at Partizan. Clemens joined Plaza in 2009 and only two years later was shortlisted as a Cannes Young Director and won a Silver for Best Animation at PromaxBDA New York.
Says Peter Masterton, EP at Plaza: “Since meeting eight years ago, Clemens & Commins have gone from strength to strength with their frequent collaborations, not only directing but also illustrating and designing wonderous worlds for their creative spawn to inhabit. Now, joined at the hip, we are sure they will continue to amaze.”
