In anticipation of St Patrick’s Day, Guinness has launched new OOH work which counts down to the celebration this Sunday. The iconic dark stout takes on a new form to illustrate the number of sleeps left for punters.
Says Albertus Lombard, brand director of premium beer, Lion: “St Patrick’s Day is a big deal for Guinness-loving and beer drinkers everywhere. It deserves its own countdown to the big day. It’s a little like counting down the sleeps till Christmas.”
With 2.4 million pints of the iconic Irish stout to be consumed in Australia in the lead up to and on St Patrick’s Day, the countdown is on.
The creative will be supported across social and OOH across NSW and VIC.

A white thing on black that kind of looks like the white foam on a Guinness.
How the hell did they come up with that?
Not the finest Guinness work. But where’s the Guinness strategy? Selling Guinness on St. Patrick’s day is like selling easter eggs at easter. Hardly going to shift the needle of a declining brand.
Maybe you should get out more. Guinness is about as declining as Taylor Swift.
now they’re forcing it
Is it on the decline? Most popular beer in the UK.

please stop
But not necessary to PR it,
@To be sure Declining brand? Where have you been?
I used to tutor AWARD school kids on the lazy art direction trope of things-that-look-like-things (Cheap flights from the Gold Coast to New Zealand? What if we turned a surfboard upside down so it looks like a plane!).
If I still tutored I’d add this to my “worst offenders” slide.
‘Selling Guinness on St. Patrick’s day is like selling easter eggs at easter. ‘
Yep, thats kind of the idea
Does it again!

Finally some simple and sophisticated work. This is what advertising should be.
What? Mediocrity?
Well played TKB and the Guinness client.
Ignore the morons on here. Onwards!
Pretty sure Guinness is growing in Australia… Might wanna check out that effie they won last year.
It’s easy to be good among the talent on this blog.
In the 00’s almost every bar had Guinness on tap. Now?
These are the ads this brand does, they are fun. Let creatives indulge in some old school D&AD style work. Give me a break.
A creative at AMV just died
👍
nice!
Nice try but leave the real ideas to us
The craft
Why not put a sleeping polar bear on top of the glass? Or an igloo.
(I’m joking, but sadly you’re not)
Checks out!
Is one placement in each state considered ‘OOH across NSW and VIC’?
