Gruen Planet premieres tonight 8:30pm ABC1 with Toby Ralph and Dee Madigan – The Pitch: Cooch Creative, Perth vs Loud&Clear, Melbourne
Following on from the Gold-medal success of Gruen Sweat, the Gruen team will tonight roll straight into the return of Gruen Planet 8:30pm AEST tonight on ABC1.
Picking up where they left off last year, host Will Anderson and regular key panellists Todd Sampson and Russel Howcroft will run the Gruen Planet scanner across the biggest news stories of the week, at home and abroad, pinpointing exactly where the truth stops and the spin, branding and image control begin.
Guest panelists include Toby Ralph – author, marketing bloke and occasional propagandist and Dee Madigan – award winning creative director and Transfer legend.
In tonight’s episode:
- “I.n.t.e.g.r.a.t.e.d. R.e.s.o.r.t” – what does that spell? CASINO! Tonight, the panel asks why Crown’s TV advertising blitz avoids the obvious, picking apart the rebranding of James Packer and his multi-billion dollar empire. Just don’t mention the word “gambling”.
- Crisis Management – The Gruen team looks at the Russian Pussy Riot and asks, did the message get lost in the madness?
- Spin Cycle – Counting down our favourite recent publicity stunts.
- Personal Worst – Each week, Gruen continues its search for the WORST performance by an athlete in a TV commercial. Tonight’s star – James O’Connor AKA The Wallabieber.
- THE PITCH – Ron Samuel from Cooch Creative (Perth) vs Joel Beath from Loud&Clear Creative (Melbourne)
- The Challenge: A campaign to convince Australians that it is in our best interests for Gina Rinehart to own Fairfax.
- The Client: Hancock Prospecting
