Gruen Nation pitch: Make Brisbane’s Julia Gillard spot vs. Freeform Melbourne’s Tony Abbott spot
Gruen Nation debuted last night on ABC1, and this week’s pitch pitched Brisbane agency Make versus Melbourne agency Freeform. Make was tasked to sell Julia Gillard, while Freeform had Tony Abbot. Both came up with some cracking ads.
The ABC reports record figures for both its new election shows – Gruen Nation and the return of The Chaser, with Yes We Canberra!
Gruen Nation attracted 1.6 million viewers with a 33.2% five city share and Yes We Canberra! Achieved 1.5 million and a staggering 42% share.
Both Gruen Nation and Yes We Canberra! won their timeslot in all markets and across the 5 cities and Gruen Nation is now the highest rating show on ABC1 this year to date.
Both shows are repeated on ABC2 tonight and available on-line at iView.

Lateline also reaped the benefit of these large audiences with 591,000 viewers – its highest ever across the 5 metro cities.
Spicks and Specks also had an excellent night with an audience of 1.5million, a 30% share, winning its timeslot across 5 cities and gaining its highest audience this year.

Can people stop trying to be serious with this segment and get back to trying to be funny. It was more entertaining before.
