dave smith.jpgalison cole.jpgGroove Quantize recently cemented their reputation as a boutique studio that delivers big sounds after being selected for Foxtel’s recent “Experience Better’ rebranding campaign following their acquisition of Austar.

Over the past few years, Dave Smith & Alison Cole (pictured) have become expert at producing memorable music and sound design for many award winning & successful brands including Visa, Volkswagen, World Movies, Lifestyle, STUDIO, CI & Audi.

Says Cole: “The key to successful sound branding is understanding the client’s strategy and then communicating the brand identity through music and sound that connects with the audience on an emotional level.”

Says Smith: “Our experience creating music for TVCs helps a lot. You only have a short time to communicate, so it’s an extension of that process and knowing how to remix the elements to consolidate a cohesive musical identity.”

Groove Q’s interpretation of ‘Ain’t No Mountain’ has been trotting the globe for Nicabate and more recently they composed original music for the launch of YY Tea for Ogilvy, Shanghai.

Groove Q’s recent work for the Sci-Fi channel (now ‘SF’) is a perfect example of their expertise across all levels.

Says Smith: “We created a thumping electro rock track to drive their promos which we then remixed into subtler elements for idents and bumpers.”

The package also required the casting, recording & direction of a wide range of voice-overs and custom sound design.
