GamesHub celebrates Melbourne International Games Week’s 10th Birthday in social campaign

GamesHub and Melbourne International Games Week (MIGW) have joined forces to produce a new social video campaign celebrating the 10th anniversary of Asia Pacific’s premier digital games celebration.

This 10-episode documentary series successfully engaged audiences across TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram, marking a significant milestone in innovative event promotion.

Key highlights:
● A 10-episode documentary series released across major social platforms.
● Celebrated the decade-long history of MIGW.
● Reached over 100,000 unique viewers organically.

Leveraging GamesHub’s experience and industry credibility, the campaign brought Melbourne International Games Week’s vibrant community to life, spotlighting key representatives and exploring the evolution of gaming culture. The series unfolded over 10 days, with each episode offering a unique perspective and culminating in a look at the future of MIGW and Victoria’s growing games industry.

Sol Wise, CEO of Creative Hubs, the parent company of GamesHub, shared insights into the campaign’s success: “Gamers live on social media, so platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram were ideal for this project. Each episode distilled the best of 10 years of Games Week into bite-sized, emotionally engaging stories. That drove interaction and in-person attendance.”

The project’s social-first approach proved highly effective. Engagement metrics, including likes, shares, and comments, underscored the campaign’s ability to resonate with audiences.

Says Steph Panecasio, Managing Editor of GamesHub and a creative force behind the campaign: “Social media requires concise, compelling storytelling. We focused on personal narratives from key members of the gaming community to create emotional connections. This captured the spirit of MIGW. It also amplified the campaign’s reach by encouraging viewers to share their own stories.”
