Furby joins Grey to form JayGrey, Sydney
Former The Furnace, Sydney creative director Jay Furby, who quit the agency in June 2006, has resurfaced into the agency world, joining forces with WPP’s Grey Advertising to rebrand its low key Sydney operation as JayGrey, which will officially launch on Friday. CB understands Furby will take a 30 percent stake in the new venture, which has taken nearly a year to finalise (CB was told about JayGrey on Melbourne Cup day last year!).
Prior to The Furnace, the multi-awarded Furby had stints at Arnold (which merged with The Furnace), DDB (where he was CD for two years under ECD Garry Horner) and Saatchi & Saatchi in Sydney as well as Saatchi’s in Singapore.

The industry needs characters like Jay.
Great to see him back and putting his chopper on the block.
Fantastic news Jay. How exciting.
he doesn’t look very happy about it
welcome back buddy
ODE TO THE MIGHTY FURBY.
To our dismay,
the great Jay’s been away,
Some say he’s been resting,
some suspect foul play.
But at last and hooray,
with no further delay,
He’s returned to our shores,
to save the day at JayGrey.
Yay!
You mean putting his blocker on the chop, don’t you?
I thought he didn’t get his own agency until season two?
Hey, your ode’s gay.
Welcome back Jay.
Well done man. Love the eau de toilette, think it will work great with women….
Shame they couldn’t change the packaging as well.
How wonderful that someone who actually does work that is different comes back.
He taught me award school and made it fun and i always look forward to seeing what he’s doing next.
It’ll be interesting to see what the man does next.
It won’t be boring. Glad he’s back in this mediocre world!
