Pixado screen shot.jpgIn a clever new take on photo sharing Pixado today announced that they have launched their photo book and story creation app on Facebook via Whitech. The Pixado app uniquely allows users to choose photos based on a range of search options that also finds relevant pictures within their friends’ photo libraries as well as their own. The completed photo book can then easily be shared electronically across multiple platforms including Facebook, e-mail and posting online to the web.

Using a clever permission-based methodology, now when a Facebook user wants to create a photo book about a particular event, by using Pixado they can use search functions including “My Top Images”, All About Me”, All About Friends”, “All About Us” and “Events” and the app will find the relevant images based on most popular ‘liked’ searches and tags.

Often pictures are taken at significant events like birthdays or on holidays by many different people. Those pictures are not always posted on Facebook and sometimes get lost in people’s personal photo libraries. Pixado comes as one of the new generation of convenient, efficient social media sharing apps that allows users to find pictures that they’d forgotten existed. Pixado also allows multiple people to collaborate on creating a photo book, a function that truly embodies the apps’ ethos, “share your story”.

Pixado opens up a whole new world of creating photo books on Facebook as its emphasis on ‘grouping’ images from multiple Facebook accounts eliminates the need to manually search for each picture and helps make each photo relevant to the story being created. When the pictures for the photo book have been chosen the user can also add in text, design templates and backgrounds before saving the completed book in one convenient location. Pixado also has safety and security measures built in, such as the ability for users to upload a storybook with “Just for Me” access which enables only the author to view the completed photo book.

Pixado also offers “My Shelf” as a virtual bookcase, where users can view completed books or books in progress. Once a book is ‘published’ by any of their friends it will also appear on My Shelf under the ‘Friends Book’ category ready to be viewed and ‘liked’ just like any other Facebook post.

Says Belinda Sims, Pixado product manager: “Pixado means you don’t have to trawl through everyone’s picture libraries to find the images you want any more. You can select your photos by person, album or event and Pixado does the rest. Pixado also has lots of templates you can use or you can create your own look so the creative options are endless. The real beauty of Pixado is that it makes creating the best story and sharing the best images with your friends easier than ever before.”

Pixado is owned by Fujifilm Australia Pty. Ltd.
