Free new iPhone app dimmi launches that is set to change the way Australians eat out nationwide
Uber has changed the way Aussies get around and now dimmi, Australia’s restaurant reservations website is set to change the way diners eat out with the launch of its new free iPhone app.
Dimmi’s brand new app integrates 2,500 of the country’s best restaurants, 1 million bookable tables, 500,000 verified diner reviews, expert reviews from Good Food Guide’s, Terry Durack, Time Out’s, Myffy Rigby and Gourmet Traveller’s, Pat Nourse – plus much more.
Says Stevan Premutico, CEO and founder of dimmi.com.au: “Our mobile phones have changed the way we eat out. We won’t simply rock up to a restaurant anymore and hope for the best. We do our research beforehand to make sure we get the most out of every dining experience. Today diners scan through reviews, images and menus before they even contemplate making a booking so we’ve made it easy for Australians to access all these things from the one place – their
pockets.
“At dimmi, we realise the importance of being accessible and our new app allows Australians to be better connected with the country’s hottest restaurants. It gives diners the tools to inspire better dining moments and makes the booking process far more seamless, and fun. We couldn’t be more excited to launch our new baby.
“We’ve seen how Uber has changed the way we book taxis in this country. Why can’t it be the same for restaurant reservations? In our minds it can, and dimmi is here to make it happen. It’s bloody exciting.”

Apart from the rewards, what is different to any other restaurant apps? Uber has a genuine point of difference. This doesn’t seem to. But I hope it does.
Hey @justwondering. Mark from Dimmi here. Key points of difference are that we run the restaurants’ diary systems and the app plugs directly in so they really are real time available tables. Kind of like seeing the cab approaching on a map in Uber world.
Also worth noting that the 500K reviews are real, certified reviews of actual diners (if you don’t go, you can’t review).
Hi Mark, thanks for the insight on the restaurant diary systems – sounds very integrated. However recently I went to a Dimmi restaurant and all they had was a good old cash register as their POS system.
Can you confirm how many of the 2,500 restaurants on Dimmi’s App and website actually have Dimmi’s restaurants’ diary systems fully installed in their restaurants?
Would be very interesting to know.
