Former The Monkeys head of planning Michael Hogg joins Emotive as MP and head of strategy

Integrated creative agency Emotive has today announced the appointment of Michael Hogg to managing partner and head of strategy.

Hogg joins Emotive after six years with The Monkeys, where he held the position of head of planning for the past three years. Prior to The Monkeys, Hogg held planning roles at Fallon London. His work has won hundreds of accolades and honours from all the major creative and effectiveness award shows.

Hogg will lead the strategy function at Emotive, setting the scene for what the agency does best: ideas with heart. He will also take on a broader leadership role across the team as managing partner, with a focus on growing the agency and the creative culture.

Says Hogg: “It’s great to be joining the Emotive family. Simon’s filled the place with talented people who all share my enthusiasm for ideas. They’ve been making adventurous, effective communication for an enviable bunch of creatively ambitious clients. And they’re on the beach at Tama, which doesn’t hurt. I look forward to helping our clients strengthen and grow their brands, and to building on the incredible momentum the agency has.”

Says Simon Joyce, CEO and founder, Emotive: “We’re beyond thrilled to have Michael come on board. His appointment represents another big step in the ongoing evolution of Emotive and our mission to assemble Australia’s most diverse team of specialised talent. His strategic leadership, expertise and understanding of the market are truly unparalleled and he will be instrumental in the continued expansion of Emotive’s strategic offering, broadening beyond world-class content and campaigns, and into working with clients to develop long-term brand positioning. Just as importantly, he’s a great guy and his leadership will add significantly to the development of our creative culture – which is the single most important factor for our continued success.”

Hogg’s appointment follows the recent appointment of Ben Clare as group creative director and comes on the back of a period of significant growth for the Sydney agency, with an increasing client base including the likes of Optus, Audible, Unilever, HelloFresh, Google, Revlon, ATC, YoPRO and Sportsbet.

Hogg commences on 13 January 2020 and will be based out of the Emotive Beach Haus in Sydney.
