Former TBWA\Melbourne senior creative Alex Metson returns to Clemenger BBDO, Wellington
After a gap year in Melbourne that lasted eight years, senior creative Alex Metson returns home to Clemenger BBDO, Wellington.
Metson spent his time away at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, Leo Burnett and TBWA, as well as freelancing from the beaches of Bali. In that time, Metson has been one of the brains behind creatively outstanding work on clients such as SPC Ardmona, Carlton United Breweries, United Nations, WorkSafe Victoria and Honda.
Brigid Alkema, executive creative director of Clemenger BBDO, says the agency is thrilled he has decided to return: “Metson’s known for his creative energy, and his thinking will be a great addition to our small but mighty team. He’s sharp, curious and brave – the qualities we want both in our work and our talent.”
Says Metson: “I was in the midst of a great time at TBWA Melbourne when Brigid called, but at the end of the day I just couldn’t resist the pull. Clemenger Wellington consistently punch well above their weight on the creative front, and they’re heading into new creative spaces. I want in.”
The agency has one of the most consistent track records in Australasia for creative and effectiveness awards, with the size and spirit of a boutique shop. Metson will work across all key clients, including Waka Kotahi (NZ Transport Agency), NZ Defence Force, NZ Human Rights Commission and EECA.
Says Metson: “Clemenger has the clients you stay up all night thinking about, solving those seemingly unsolvable social problems, and I can’t wait to get into that. It’s good to be back.”
