Dentsu has bolstered its creative offering by taking on highly acclaimed John Fairley as the new head of design.

Fairley (left) will be based in Sydney, fusing design resources across all Australia and New Zealand offices to enhance dentsu’s branding and advertising design capabilities. Fairley’s work has been honoured at the world’s best design and advertising award shows. He now looks to bring that acclaimed success to dentsu’s clients across the region.

Says Fairley: “I am absolutely thrilled to a part of the fabulous team here at dentsu. There is a real buzz about the company that is completely infectious. I am looking forward to collaborating with the inspiring folk around me to create award winning, never before work.”

Fairley spent the last five years as design director at Curious Productions in London. He led the agency across all aspects of design, including traditional and digital advertising, social, motion content and of course, brand design. Clients included Lego, MARS, Rolls Royce, Patek Philippe, Diageo and Vodafone.

Says Marcus Tesoriero (right), executive creative director at dentsu, Australia, and NZ: “Attention to craft is the difference between good agencies and great agencies. We are pumped to have John on this journey with us as we continue to build innovative work across the region. John comes from an elite design pedigree in London and has helped to reshape some of the world’s best brands. This obsession with craft is a welcomed addition to the team as we build towards the never before.”
