Filmmaker Aaron Wilson joins MERV

Award winning filmmaker Aaron Wilson has joined MERV.

With two critically acclaimed feature films under his belt, Canopy and Little Tornadoes, Wilson infuses his commercial directing work with a refined cinematic perspective, enriched with emotive character performances and subtle humour.

Raised along the Murray River, Wilson has lived and worked in and around the neighbourhood South-East Asian region, and resides in inner-city Melbourne. With this background, he focuses on work that emphasises difference, inclusivity, queer representation and cross-cultural connection, mirroring the values of modern Australia.

Says David Curry, EP, MERV Melbourne: “It’s great to have Aaron on board. I’ve worked with him for many years and love the way he genuinely brings directorial value to scripts and concepts with his unique background. He’s also skilful with realising big, resonant campaigns (think ‘Priceless Eyes’ for Specsavers and the Care Aware ‘Impossible Orchestra’). He’s definitely one of the most creatively collaborative people you’d want to work with.”
