Female mentorship program Assisterhood locks in 27 QLD mentors and 2022 launch event

Following its recent expansion into Victoria, female-run mentorship program Assisterhood can announce 27 mentors will be volunteering their time for the Queensland program, totalling 40 mentors across both states.
From seasoned CMOs to innovation and experience officers, the breadth of Assisterhood’s mentors has once again widened.
Assisterhood strongly encourages people from marginalised or diverse backgrounds to apply.
Says Linh Diep, founder, Assisterhood: “We want to shine a light on all the different career paths you can take in the comms industry, and break the mould on ‘you can’t be what you can’t see’.”
To match the momentum of the program’s fifth year, the QLD committee has grown. Teach Starter’s senior marketing manager Isabelle Debnam and Guide Dogs Queensland senior marketer Liz Ballantyne return as QLD Leads, while Publicis Worldwide digital project manager Polina Shilenina and Arc Worldwide account manager Vanessa Pham are joined by new faces; Askable growth manager Colleen Gao and Surf Life Saving Queensland marketing officer Molly Atkinson.
Assisterhood QLD lead Liz Ballantyne is excited about the year ahead: “Assisterhood provides the opportunity for younger female professionals to create long-lasting connections with industry experts for their personal and professional growth.”
The combined Assisterhood VIC and QLD launch event will be run virtually on Wednesday 16th March at 6–8PM AEST. Hopefuls will be able to meet, hear from, and talk to the program’s 40 mentors, plus gain insider tips on applying from previous successful mentees.
Says Isabelle Debnam, Assisterhood QLD lead: “2022 is going to be one of Assisterhood’s biggest years to date! Our mentor lineup is exceptional and we can’t wait to see the relationships that will form in this year’s cohort. This year is all about growing and strengthening our community.”
Application details will be announced during the event, and released to the wider community later that week.
Assisterhood QLD will also be hosting a range of events this year, including workshops, panels, and networking nights.
