Female mentorship program Assisterhood kicks off its 5th year by expanding to Victoria

Now back bigger than ever, Assisterhood’s rapid growth has seen the program catapult from five mentors in its first year, to 60+ alumni and a community of thousands more.

Assisterhood is a female-run mentorship program that links underrepresented people trying to break into advertising to industry leaders across disciplines from creative, film, marketing, digital, tech, production, and more. Since 2018, the program has obtained over 330 applications and over 60 mentorship match-ups.

After four years of success in Queensland, Assisterhood launches in Victoria for the first time. In 2022, hungry go-getters down south will have the chance to be mentored by the state’s greats.

The VIC committee consists of Special Group business managers Linh Diep and Ella Papilion, Saatchi & Saatchi senior business manager Jessie Roper, Paramount Pictures 2nd assistant accountant Leticia Jenkins, and Ogilvy copywriter Anais Read.

Co-founder Linh Diep is excited for the evolution of what started out as a mentorship program with just five mentors: “Assisterhood’s 5th year marks the program’s expansion into Victoria. We’re excited about connecting the comms industry’s leaders down south with its future leaders. And who knows what’s next…”

Thirteen experienced industry leaders in VIC have confirmed their spots in the inaugural program, while the 2022 QLD mentors will be announced soon.

Anyone interested in applying should sign up for the 2022 Launch event, which will be held virtually to include both states (but anyone is welcome to join). Here, aspiring applicants will get a chance to meet the mentors, hear from previous participants, and learn how the program works.
