FAST Group launches new six-part podcast ‘Adjust the Contrast’ created by The Royals
We like to talk about diversity in Australia. But how do we move from tick-a-box inclusion to turning diversity into a catalyst for opportunity? That’s the question Australia’s leading broker aggregator FAST, a member of the National Australia Bank, answers in its first podcast – Adjust the Contrast. The six-part series is released today via independent agency The Royals as part of a broader brand campaign.
The podcast, hosted by lawyer, author and presenter Adam Liaw, examines diversity from all corners – why we need it, the barriers to inclusion and how diversity can protect against risk and create better ideas and growth that benefit society and business.
The series looks at what we can learn about diversity from nature and society, how we are cursed by our own filters when it comes to how we see the world, and asks whether the modern workplace is the problem or solution to our diversity problem.
Says Andrew Gooding, director of aggregator marketing, National Australia Bank: “As the leading advocate of diversity and inclusion within the finance broking industry, we wanted a way to demonstrate FAST’s commitment to the cause by creating a vehicle through which people both within and outside of the finance broking industry could better understand the value and importance of diversification. Importantly, we wanted to invest in creating deep awareness of the concept. In delivering Adjust the Contrast, The Royals have certainly achieved that in a way that is also highly engaging.”
Says David Rood, head of content at The Royals: “FAST has been a tremendous partner to work with and the team there was open to giving us enough rope to approach diversity from different angles in a way that hopefully challenges our listeners and gives them a new take on inclusion.”
Experts interviewed by Liaw (above) include former Sex Discrimination Comissioner Elizabeth Broderick, You Can’t Ask That co-founder Kirk Docker, writer and commentator Benjamin Law, leader of Deloitte Australia’s Diversity and Inclusion Consulting practice Juliet Bourke and economist Stephen Koukoulas. The new brand campaign also includes a strategic, creative and design repositioning, as well as new comms including digital and print executions.
Adjust the Contrast is available on all major podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, with new episodes released fortnightly.

I am a broker under FAST. Why an aggregation would release a podcast is beyond me. Seems like a marketing department trying to spend their budget. What a waste of time and money that could be better spent.
Craig? Is that you? I’m assuming it because you’re the one that keeps saying “aggregation” in our all network emails. Like Brendo and Gooding keep telling you, it’s not an “aggregation”, we’re part of an “aggregator”. This is why my structures are better, and I’m writing far more loans than you. You drive a Camry, I drive a Benz. What more do I need to say? I thought the podcast was great and I’m proud to be part of a broker network that values intelligence and forward thinking. See you Monday, mate, don’t drink the whole slab at once. It’s meant to last the whole weekend.
