Elle Macpherson graces cover of Harper’s BAZAAR’s Fabulous at Every Age issue
Supermodel and Australian icon Elle Macpherson graces the cover of the August Harper’s BAZAAR’s Fabulous at Every Age issue.
Photographed by Bryan Adams and styled by BAZAAR fashion director Thelma McQuillan at Adams’s London studio, the August 2013 cover is Macpherson’s sixth for BAZAAR since the magazine launched in 1998.
Harper’s BAZAAR editor Kellie Hush says, “When I approached Elle she immediately said she would love to work on this project with Bryan Adams, who is her dear friend, a music mega-star and an accomplished photographer. It was a collaboration match-made in heaven, if you’ll excuse the music pun.”
Adams rose to global fame with the hit singles Summer of ’69 and Heaven and still tours the world as a musician, working on photographic projects between tour dates. His images have been published in US Harper’s BAZAAR, Esquire, Interview and i-D. Adams has also shot advertising campaigns for Guess, Converse, Montblanc and Escada, and he collaborated with Calvin Klein on the 2005 book American Women. His own book of photographs, Exposed, was published in 2012.
“It was a very tough decision for Bryan and me to choose the cover image so in the end I decided to run two with BAZAAR’s subscribers receiving Elle in motion in tasselled Tom Ford,” said Kellie Hush.
BAZAAR’s August issue also features “the world’s first digital supermodel”, Coco Rocha; evergreen supermodel Christy Turlington; Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson; and model and philanthropist Elettra Wiedemann, daughter of Isabella Rossellini. Plus, BAZAAR spends 24 hours with Victoria Beckham.
Harper’s BAZAAR is published by a joint venture between Bauer Media and Hearst Magazines International, the most successful and longstanding media partnership in Australia.
