ECHO DARLING, Collingwood’s newest audio studio opens

In the most exciting audio news since the introduction of the OP59 standard, Laura Hesse and Rob Stephens are thrilled to announce the opening of their audio baby Echo Darling.
Following their time at Squeak E. Clean Studios, Stephens and Hesse went looking for a new home; which they found with the crew at Windmill Audio, and together decided to start a new advertising-focused studio; Echo Darling.
Echo Darling is located in the creative heart of Collingwood, surrounded by brilliant live music venues, galleries, creative agencies and production houses. While the graffiti may have been painted over (for now), the area remains vibrant, just around the corner from the institution that is PBS, and surrounded by more vegan catering options than one could shake a carrot at.
Echo Darling’s offering is what they do best; audio post production and music composition for advertising, creative films and content.
With experience from audio studio-elite; Final Sound, Bang Bang, Soundbyte, Jungle, and recently Squeak E. Clean, Stephens and Hesse have a combined 34 years of experience in sound and post production and know what they’re doing.
Says Hesse: “Rob and I have a professional rhythm that allows us to produce seamless sessions. He’s a socially-skilled, absolute tech-nerd with epic music taste and talent, and he might very well be the fastest sound editor I’ve worked with. The icing on the cake being; we also have the expertise and support from the Windmill Longform crew.”
“Windmill has been lucky to have consistent long form projects, and that’s been our focus for a long time. Starting Echo Darling with Rob and Laura means we can offer full service to the jobs that come our way, plus we know of their abilities and talent; naturally we’ve struck gold to work with them.” Says Simon Rosenberg and Pip Atherstone-Reid of Windmill Audio.
Of course, Homer (the dog) has also joined the team, fresh from his studio-greeting roles at Squeak E. Clean and Crayon; he’s very excited to have you visit the studio.
Both Homer and Stephens said: “While Laura is the most creative, detailed and efficient audio producer we have ever had the pleasure to work with – part of her strength comes from her experience across various facets of production and post. To have an audio producer who also intimately understands the video processes has proved incredibly helpful when it comes to help guide projects through its various stages.”
As the founders put it: “We’re so excited to launch Echo Darling. We can’t wait to see what we will achieve together.
Adds Stephens: “We’d love to have you over to visit, just be sure to comment on Laura’s homemade pottery subtly placed in the studio.”
Echo Darling is: Laura Hesse, Rob Stephens, Pip Atherstone-Reid, Simon Rosenberg and studio-dog Homer.
