The news comes hot on the heels of JWT’s appointment to the Patak’s business, another local win.

JWT Sydney will be the digital agency of record for Dove deodorants, hair care and skincare, and will be responsible for Dove’s local digital marketing. The remit includes localisation of the brand’s global 2013 strategy, development and implementation of the brand content strategy and management of all owned channels.

The win builds on the relationship JWT Sydney holds with other Unilever brands, Toni&Guy, Clear and Sunsilk.

Says John Gutteridge, JWT Australasia CEO: “We’ve had a great year with the Unilever team; there’s an incredible chemistry between us, which will always bring out the best work in everyone. So naturally, we can’t wait to get stuck into such an iconic brand as Dove with the Unilever brand team next year.”

Says Milly Hall, JWT Sydney senior account director: “Dove is looking to tighten its online brand experience to align with the brand equity. It’s an inherently social brand, so we will harness this online and in social to strengthen the brand’s engagement with consumers.”

Says Lana Taylor, Unilever marketing manager: “We appointed JWT based on their strong digital creative capability and enthusiasm for the brands they work on, as demonstrated by their work with the hair care team.”

The appointment is effective immediately, with the bulk of work commencing in January.
