Destination NSW unveils new campaign for Caravan and Camping Industry Association

Destination NSW has partnered with the Caravan and Camping Industry Association on a new ‘Feel More, Live More’ marketing program to boost year-round visitation to the state’s 400 holiday parks.

The initiative follows NSW holiday parks celebrating a record average occupancy rate of 81 per cent during the New Year week commencing 30 December 2024, the highest rate for the period in four years.

The month-long campaign is aimed at further driving awareness of what’s on offer in NSW in autumn, winter and spring.

Minister for Tourism John Graham says: “NSW is the number one destination in Australia for caravan and camping holidaymakers and the NSW Government is committed to continuing to support the sector and the valuable contribution it makes to growing the visitor economy.

“We have an ambitious goal to reach $91 billion in annual visitor economy expenditure by 2035, with the caravan and camping sector playing a vital role in generating jobs and driving investment in regional NSW.”

Tourism Research Australia data shows NSW is the number one state in Australia for domestic overnight caravan and camping visitors, nights and expenditure.

In the year ending September 2024, five million domestic overnight visitors participated in a caravan and camping experience across NSW.

NSW Caravan and Camping Industry Association CEO Lyndel Gray says: “We have some of the country’s most beautiful scenery, which gives us a natural advantage when it comes to camping and caravanning and we’re coming off a period of bumper bookings.

“With the summer holidays behind us, as we all go back to work and day to day life, we want people to be inspired to plan and book their next holiday and enjoy regional NSW in the cooler months.

“Holiday parks have become more than once a year destination, they offer a wealth of attractions in some of the best locations where people can reconnect with nature or enjoy the local scene, making them ideal year-round destinations.”

Destination NSW Acting Chief Executive Officer Karen Jones says: “Caravan and camping experiences are a cornerstone of regional tourism in NSW, offering visitors the chance to embrace nature, unwind in stunning locations and enjoy a sense of fun and adventure all year round.

“Through the ‘Feel More, Live More’ campaign, Destination NSW is deepening its support for this thriving sector—working with the Caravan and Camping Industry Association to inspire more visitors to discover the state’s incredible holiday parks beyond the peak summer season, driving sustainable growth for regional businesses and communities.”

The campaign will feature on TV in NSW and extend into regional Victoria, the ACT and into Southern Queensland and will then target those regions with social and digital content.

Developed as an extension of Destination NSW’s Feel New brand, ‘Feel More, Live More’ supports the sustainable growth of regional visitor economies. It complements the Recharge Here marketing campaign, which promotes electric vehicle-friendly road trips in Greater Sydney and regional NSW.
