Coles Supermarkets taps roster shops DDB and TBWA to join Big Red during ongoing pandemic

Coles has enlisted additional support from members of its existing agency roster, to help manage our marketing response to issues surrounding COVID-19 while keeping our longer-term marketing strategy on track. DDB and TBWA, which have worked with Coles Financial Services since July 2019, will join Big Red in supporting core marketing activities for Coles Supermarkets during the ongoing pandemic.
Says Coles Group CMO Lisa Ronson: “I’m proud of the support Big Red have given us during this unique time. I also feel really assured by the support of such a strong set of agencies, working with our teams as they fulfil our ambition to sustainably feed all Australians at this difficult time.”
Adds DDB Group Australia CEO Andrew Little: “We’re greatly looking forward to working with both the Coles Supermarkets and Big Red teams to help keep customers informed on how Coles is working to meet their needs.”
Says Ted Horton, CEO of Big Red: “We understand the massive impact that COVID-19 has had on the Australian public, and the critical role that Coles plays in supporting Australians. We look forward to continuing to guide and support the Coles marketing team to communicate with their customers across the nation.”
Says TBWA Melbourne CEO, Kimberly Wells: “In our work with the Coles Financial Services team we’ve seen just how influential the Coles brand is in our community. We are grateful for this opportunity to help them continue meeting the market in a positive way at such a critical time.”

In these testing time it will be a comfort to see some decent ads from Coles after 10 long years of tripe.
Awesomeness by TBWA? Can hardly wait.
How does ANZ feel about this?

Why with all the sadness in the world at the moment would you make such a hurtful comment like that.
It is a time for kindness.
This news would no doubt have sparked a famous tantrum…
Stay tuned…..
The Coles insurance work is dreadful. Woeful. Please I beg don’t torture us with more of this across Coles supermarkets!
Which agency did the Coles insurance work?
TBWA did the work noted above.
It’s always the agency that suffers. The new Coles CMO has been in the job for a year. That’s a long time in the world of retail. So what’s been done? Still Curtis Stone, a slight reworking of the strap line and other fiddling at the edges. The only thing you’d call big was a massively expensive and ill fated AFL sponsorship.
Come on play fair.
