Beats by Dr. Dre (Beats) has partners up with Aussie owned US-based independent creative agency MIRIMAR to launch a new short film entitled “The Legend of Ricallen” starring NFL quarterback Josh Allen and Australian Formula One superstar driver Daniel Ricciardo.

 

The campaign tells the story of two high-profile BFFs: Josh Allen and Daniel Ricciardo. A fateful FaceTime call leads them to a wild purchase that cements their celebrity bromance into pop culture lore – buying a racehorse.

The horse’s name – Ricallen – is an odd but hilarious mashing of their last names.

This legendary tale will follow Josh and Daniel, along with a colorful cast of characters, in their adventure to find the perfect racehorse, and prepare for their first race.

The seven-minute film, directed by Vincent Peone of Art Class, is being released like a feature film. With teaser trailers, movie posters, celebrity appearances and Ricallen merchandise which will all be found on legendofricallen.com.

The film features a cameo from Lukas Gage who is best known for his role in the first season of the Emmy Award-winning HBO limited series, White Lotus and has starred in critically acclaimed TV shows such as You, Euphoria and Gossip Girl. The Legend of Ricallen features the new Beats Pill, which launched in late June, along with Beats Studio Pro headphones.

The Legend of Ricallen will extend across multiple platforms, and culminate in a big moment at the Belgian Grand Prix, where Daniel Ricciardo will be donning a Ricallen helmet during the race, and making a special drop of the Ricallen apparel, which will be available via his own fashion label EnchanteEnchante (https://enchante.co/collections/ricallen). Ricallen enthusiasts can peruse through a Ricallen Tree, Ricallen Trucker Hat or Ricallen Bandana.

This is MIRIMAR’s second collaboration with Beats. The partners recently dropped “The Predicament” featuring Lebron James and Lil Wayne.
