Dad dancing makes its debut in this year’s edition of Sportsbet’s Elite Average Games campaign
Sportsbet is paying homage to the awe-inspiring mundane talents of everyday Aussies with the third edition of its Elite Average Games campaign.
While Break Dancing is all the rage in Paris, it’s Dad Dancing making its debut in the Elite Average Games and is joined by other new events including the Floatie Paddle, Footy Retrieval, Pillow Throw and the nerve-wracking Huntsman Spider Catch & Release.
Cult hero broadcaster Matt Hill calls all of the events and is joined in the commentary box by comedian Nick Cody.
Matt Weston returned to direct the series, which was written and produced by Sportsbet’s internal creative teams. The campaign is headlined by four 45s and 30s TVCs, includes five individual videos for each event ad, bespoke social versions and a hero compilation with highlights from around the Games.
Says Rambo Goraya, executive creative director, Sportsbet: “Feedback on our previous Elite Average Games campaigns were so positive we felt we had to go around one more time in 2024. Everything from knocking footies out of trees, throwing a million decorative pillows off the bed to everyone’s favourite Len Loosefoot and his brilliant Dad Dancing skills are on display this time around. It’s all good fun, designed to entertain and capped off with more Aussie gold!”

Great to see this back again – but next time they need to push it further. How about making it into an event for real average joes to compete? or a video game everyone can play?
