Curtis Stone to appear in Channel 7 Xmas shows via Red Engine TV, Coles, Ensemble and UM
Famous Aussie chef Curtis Stone will be showing people how to cook both classic and casual Christmas feasts in two festive TV specials, the first of which will air tonight on Channel 7.
These programs complement Coles’ existing support for regular cooking programs including the partnership with My Kitchen Rules and have been created and produced by Red Engine TV, Coles, Ensemble and UM.
The first program, A Guide to a Classic Christmas features Stone in partnership with Karen Martini preparing a traditional European-style Christmas meal, set indoors on a beautifully decorated table featuring dishes including a delicious pork roast, salmon gravlax and Curtis’ mum’s mice pies, all using delicious Australian produce.
In the second special, Curtis Stone and his long-time friend, Ben O’Donoghue, are back together again filming in picturesque Byron Bay and showcasing A Guide to a Casual Christmas. Most of the cooking is done outside with the dishes reflecting a relaxed summer inspired menu including BBQ prawns, mango parfait and a quadruple smoked ham that’s finished on the BBQ.
Says Simon McDowell, Coles marketing and store development director: “These shows are a unique way for us to spark some serious foodie inspiration for Aussie families getting into the Christmas spirit and looking for that little bit of help with their menus. At Coles, we love food and the festive season, so we’re excited to be able to show Australians how to make delicious quality meals for their families this Christmas without breaking the budget.”
The first special showing the classic Christmas goes to air tonight on Channel 7 at 8pm. The second special is on Tuesday, December 16, also at 8pm.
Says Justin Ricketts, CEO of Ensemble: “These are airing at a time that is truly relevant as people plan their family get-togethers. They are designed to both help people prepare their Christmas meals and also be excited about the forthcoming season.”
Seven, Ensemble and UM’s collaboration on the show follows the successful launch of the “Style the Nation” special produced for Target, which aired in mid-September.

who cares?
seriously. like who actually cares enough to read this?
Fantastic to see more local television content with the support of corporate partners (Coles) to make it happen. And for the ‘detractors’ would you rather watch MASH re-runs or actual entertaining locally produced television (which looks pretty good too)
Can someone inform where one can get the recipes for the dishes cooked tonight (16 Dec) cheers
Where can I get the recipes from the “Guide to a Casual Christmas” show, showing us all that lovely delicious food and not be able to cook it would be a dissapointing
Where can I get the recipe for the quadruple smoked ham ???
Hi, just saw curtis stone and the other guy cooking a xmas ham… the finished product looked great but it was a different ham altogether as the cloves put into the the uncooked ham are in each corner of the scoring …yet the cloves in the cooked ham are in the middle… whats doing…
