‘Creative Sheroes’ campaign and exhibition launches celebrating adwomen driving change

Melbourne Design Week launches today and with it, a new exhibition to champion women in the creative industries.

Presented by designer Vanessa La Delfa with copywriter (and Mavens founder) Leah Morris, ‘Creative Sheroes: Women Driving Change’ is a digital anthology of women’s stories, spotlighting those whose work focuses on social or environmental change.

The work profiles 26 of the industry’s best including Sarah McGregor (Communicado), Bec Brideson (Venus Comms), Phoebe Sloane (Special Group), Huei Yin Wong (Clemenger BBDO), Katarina Matic (Bullfrog), Dr Jane Connory (Swinburne), Mirella Arapian (Mek), Michelle Akhidenor (The Peers Project) and iconic illustrator Beci Orpin.

Says La Delfa: “Change comes from those around us. We are surrounded by an array of creative women from different backgrounds, it’s up to us to see, hear and celebrate them.”

Creative Sheroes: Women Driving Change is part of Melbourne Design Week 2022, an initiative of the Victorian Government in collaboration with the NGV. It runs from March 17 – 22.
