CRC CREATES RADIOHEAD/MTV EXIT HUMAN TRAFFICKING MUSIC VIDEO
Sydney agency colman rasic carrasco has just launched a music video for top UK band Radiohead. The single ‘All I need’, from Radiohead’s critically acclaimed latest album ‘In Rainbows’, became a perfect fit for the idea behind the human trafficking message. The video clip was created to raise awareness of exploitation and human trafficking in developing countries.
“It is exciting to work on a project that creates awareness for such a good cause with the backing of one of the world’s most respected bands,” says Dejan Rasic of colman rasic carrasco.
The ‘All I need’ music video is a joint project for client MTV Exit Asia and Radiohead, which will see the clip released to a global audience of millions.
“It’s great to be able to put a worthwhile message into a format that can create it’s own audience,” says Rebecca Carrasco from colman rasic carrasco. The music video, directed by Steve Rogers through Revolver in Sydney will run as of today on television, web and mobile networks.
When asked what attracted him to the idea, Steve Rogers comments “It was interesting because I had not seen social commentary that was presented as a music promo before.”
Thom Yorke, Radiohead lead vocalist has personally pledged his support for the MTV Exit Foundation and comments “I’m touched that the music goes with that (idea).”

WOW that’s fucking GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fuck me…well done guys! What a way to launch an agency.
Yeah! Way to go Rene.
Huge. Congrats guys.
That deserves a tea!
This is all over the news – just saw it on BBC.
F;ing brilliant…
why do an ad when you can take one of the most popular bands in the world and do a filmclip.
THIS is the way of the future. F8ck press.
Wow. For the first time I have to admit I am truly a jealous creative.
What an amazing brief.
great clip too.
Well done guys, what a way kick it off. So far so good 😉
Great to see an agency getting on with it and not just talking what they are going to do. One to watch.
This is outstanding. I watched it and it almost brought me to tears. Well done everyone. Top stuff.
brilliant
The link is wrong, dude.
now that is fucking awesome!!!
dejan and bec are on fire!!!
Fuckin’ fantastic song…….the context of which has absolutely nothing to do with the plight of young children working in sweat shops, but hey.
I love Radiohead. Well done fuckers.
Fark.
I think you can safely say you’re doing pretty bloody well in your field (or out of your field as it were) when you’re doing film clips for Radiohead.
Well done
Well done Steve Rogers. This is some of your best work mate.
Brilliant video. A simple idea that is very moving and effective in its message portraying a horrible crime.
Makes me think more about the products I buy, as I often wonder how it’s possible that some items are so cheap.
Did you know:
“There are no reliable estimates on the number of trafficking victims in Australia. However, the Australian NGO Project Respect estimates up to 1,000 victims are currently under debt bondage, not including those who have been trafficked but already paid off their debt.4”
http://www.humantrafficking.org/countries/australia
How can the advertising industry have an impact in regards to being aware of what we’re selling and where it’s coming from?
It is an incredible effort to get something like this up. Credit where it is due – this is stand-out. I particularly like how the idea is drawn out and the usual scare tactics so many of these campaigns apply are not present here . Which is refreshing for a community service message. As a fan of Radiohead, this stands up to their other videos as well. Still can’t believe these guys pulled this off.
Alicia
So, the band wrote it.
Steve Rogers directed it.
And the agency did, what????
No invoice here, how is that office space going, bills adding up?
9:43 … The agency came up with the idea and I suggest you look at their client list if you’re worried about how they are paying their bills.
Great follow up to the Snoop campaign guys. Well done!!
Do music clips really need agencies -PLEASE! Awesome song awesome direction.
9.43 PM the agency came up with the idea, you know, the little thing that gives a reason for putting what the band wrote and what Steve Rogers shot together. It’s not rocket science, mate.
Rene rocks … best producer in town.
9:43 your comment doesn’t even deserve a response. Didn’t you read the fucking article – the fucking agency came up with the idea and fuck i’m jealous.
wow 9.43…did CRC knock back your book or something? why don’t you go home and beat your dog?!
Fuck off 9:43.
This is the best fucking work I’ve seen in Australia probably forever and it’s sad fucks like you that wreck the industry for the rest of us.
If you can’t see what they’ve done, you’re a fucking idiot.
I’m sure droga will agree. Don’t you have some awards to dust instead of commenting on the blog?
Nice one Dejan, nice one Bec.
9.43pm, lets hope you’re not in the industry because if you can’t see any value in the script, which has the idea in it, you’re a bit of a no-hoper. No doubting Steve Rogers did a fucking amazing job of directing it, but he directed a script that has a big idea in it. and the whole idea of doing a film clip for this instead of an ad is a big idea as well.
top stuff. hands down.
Powerful stuff indeed! Well done Ben & co.
Good song, good cause and good concept but the clip is a bit of a let down
Why can’t Alicia believe these guys pulled this off???? – the music industry makes film clips all the time … you can watch them on TV… they are in between the ads.
Revolver has done a great job.
OK – now I hate you guys. Well done.
I’m going home now to smoke pot and fuck my neighbors wife in the garage.
some start-ups talk.
some start-ups do.
who am i to judge? To each their own.
i find it interesting that the link to the film clip was not working for the first day or so, yet there are so many positive and supportive comments.
it’s almost like the politburo in here telling us what to think. so does that mean that everyone thought ben nott’s red bull video was the shit? well done then ben.
3:02 … don’t know about you but those links never work. Thankfully some of us have the brains to click on ‘new work’ to find the clip. Or maybe you prefer to believe that big brother is watching. Ooooooh conspiracy theories … Whatever. This is great. Just great. Go CRC.
3.02….it was all over the fucking news!
link didn’t work for me either but I looked it up in google news and got over 200 000 new links..most of which had the video on there – I too was a sceptic..but this is really quite cool. Happy that there are people out there changing the way we work because i’m totally sick of having to put my worst shit forward to keep my job.
Here’s to change!
1.38
First time you said that it scored 3/10. Second time round it’s considerably less funny.
Hope you’re not a ‘creative’.
3:02pm ever heard of that website called YouTube.
Earth Hour.
Human trafficking.
Sell some fucken products!
3.02 – I had a hunt around then congratulated them. Were you abused as a child? Come here… that’s better… now cry it out.
These guys have just done ‘disruption’, ‘creative hard sell’, ‘lovemark’ or whatever stupid fucking slogan your agency touts about.
I know for a fact these guys also work on cerebos and barclays bank, Big clients by all accounts. And I don’t know about you but having worked on a few fmcg and bank accounts, I can assure you they’re as hard as they come, but there’s coin there my friend. So let’s just wait to see what CRC do on those puppies, you never know it might even cut it. I’m willing to think the glass is half-full based on the stuff they’ve done here. Good on ya fellas, nice work.
3:02 … I just searched google news and found it on BBC news, Guardian, Sky, Reuters … etc … etc… It’s everywhere. You don’t need a link to watch it. Well done.
Wow. Awesome.
Well done to all involved. Bec & Dejan, knew you’d kick it. Hats off to the suits, producers, director and client too. And to RAdiohead for having balls. Takes a good team and a great team effort to make this kind of shit stick.
Another celeb another cause… thanks Bob you really changed Africa.
nice job at awards but will it have any real impact?
damn >>>>>>> i want to work at CRC. They hiring?
Come on. First of all Radiohead have to be the most boring self indulgent band in the world. And the idea isn’t rocket surgery. I’m not saying it’s the worst thing in the world but it’s not like “wow I’m so jealous, I wish I was you.”
Okay, I love that they got to work with RadioHead, one of the best bands in the world. I love that it’s for a good cause, but if I can just be honest, the video is not very good. RadioHead videos are usually amazing. This is just a side by side video of a kid in America and a kid in a sweatshop. Emotional sure, but groundbreaking? No.
What an incredible way to draw attention to human trafficking and child slave labour. Well done to all involved. Ironically though, the kids who appeared in it didn’t get paid.
Do you people really believe what you write on this blog? And do you genuinely believe that what you write here matters?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-F5L1S7LKU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrZTNhW44-o
These are AMAZING Radiohead video clips, even more amazing considering that they were done 10-15 years ago.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the second is Jonathon Glazers. I say this because there is 50 comments saying that this is the hottest thing ever, honestly it isn’t. Both these, in my honest opinion are FAR more visually interesting and as a video clip goes, rock harder.
That said, I do congratulate CRC (and Tony who I have massive respect for) on a good job. I just feel robbed as I read 50 comments before actually watching expecting the next big thing and got a pretty interesting something kinda like 2 other things yet not something something.
Rock Vid as ad…..meh.
Dear 11:04 … Being English and a fan of Radiohead for many years now, I feel compelled to defend them from your insult. Consider this … Radiohead have released seven albums and have sold over 23 million records around the world. I believe your comment about them being a “the most boring and self indulgent band in the world” is somewhat out of touch with popular public opinion. Radiohead have even had several books published about their music. To top it off, they have won a mountain of music industry awards and are largely considered by both UK and global mainstream and industry press sources to be one of the most innovative and progressive bands the world has seen this past decade. As for the idea … well it is pretty damn well impressive as well. Ever heard the term ‘bitter and twisted’? If not, look in the mirror and it will make sense.
F.O
9:46 … missing the point. It’s the idea that is powerful in this. It’s not about creating some special effects extravaganza for the sake of it.
just saw the clip and it’s wonderful stuff guys. Made me immediately look at my trainers. You could be cynical and say that this kind of thing doesn’t do much – but hey if everyone adopted that attitude then what’s the point of waking up in the morning. You have to give it a go and if all it does is make people think about what they spend their western moola on then it’s helped.
I say old chaps: ironically though, the kids who appeared in it didn’t get paid.
Hmmmmm?
i love the subtle direction in this – it’s really nicely done. Well done all round. Some of the best/classiest work of the year so far.
It’s a really fresh way in for an awareness spot. Super smart strategic thinking here.
Great. No more cheap shoes for me. Damn you CRC. Damn you to hell.
9:46PM … you sound like a lame ass director who has never worked with ideas before. This is brilliant.
Seriously some of the BEST fucking work I’ve seen.
To those few negative people venting on this blog..first of all, this is such a damn cool idea because the idea is to get the message out there by going through as a video clip not an ad. And like it or not, it has already worked. because the link on the blog hasn’t worked I checked it out on Youtube and it has got about 10,000 fucking views a day. no ad does that…which was probably the whole point of the idea. I’m flawed that someone in our industry can’t see the size of that idea.
As for the quality of the video as a Radiohead clip, John Seale was the cinematographer! the guy has done every great fucking flim to come out of Hollywood. Amazing stuff. and unlike most videoclips, this one has an idea. It’s not just the comparison of two lives….its the bit where the same shoes come down at the same time on the two sides of the screen and you go ‘oh’. Great stuff.
CRC, great work. I’m embarrased for the few idiots on here who can’t identify quality work. From the rest of the industry a huge pat on the back.
HUGE IDEA, SO WELL DONE
GREAT!
Actually it’s up to 60,000 hits. Pretty good for four days.
I was going to buy a pair of new trainers. Now i’m too depressed.
2.03
That’s half the problem. don’t buy the trainers and you deprive them of any income -which they desperately need.
a real toughie. anyone got an answer?
Green
How does it feel to finally be a jealous creative?
Hows the weather up there?
Thanks for your approval [of the brief].
I’d be happy with just a britney clip.
I’m glad you felt you really needed to explain the bleeding obvious 12:05 and also how incredibly sure that you opinion is the correct one, or the only one that matters.
You like it, I’m glad for you, but you can’t bag others for not being so wrapped.
I’m personally neither here nor there on the ad/video clip/thingy.
Flame on!
I think the clip is very sensitive to the cause, including production value. As if the creative team didn’t know the ‘amazing’ clips the band had done in the past. Jesus, don’t be so naive. These are the reasons they give these briefs to proven players, people who bring their A grade game when the world is watching.
As a song however, I’d probably enjoy it more with a bickie and an Eos sunrise, but as an idea over all, alchemy.
5:43 maybe the answer is to lobby governments on it. This puts the issue back in the news to discuss.
They should have got radiohead to record a jingle
Not an original idea. This was done by Tony Kaye in 1993.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psP1bKKEtHg
The similarity peaks around 60 secs in.
After all this admiration does anyone feel slighty hypocritical? There IS a reason products need to be made with child labour – the price incorporates a very expensive component called marketing. Rather than cooing for such a great idea lets exercise some social responsibility about what we advertise. We make the desire for these products.
2:06. Just for your information all the children performing in the piece were paid.
It’s probably best not to post comments you know nothing about.
Hmmmm
There are those in our industry who prefer to talk about how great their work is and those who prefer to just deliver it.
Hopefully someday for the sake of our industry we might learn the difference between the two – which would give us a healthier respect for the degree of difficulty and skill required to create it.
Well done guys – great work to sit nicely along-side your past efforts on Lynxjet, Football Federation and MTV Snoop.
9:35 … I just watched that old clip. I don’t see any similarity at all. What are you smoking? This is great by the way. Really fresh.
9:35 … fuck off it has nothing in common with it.
I love how 9:35 is trying to dig up anything remotely similar in his/her annonymous effort to trip up this brilliant idea. Sorry buddy (or buddette) but this has no similarity. Unless you are pointing out that they are both music videos? What’s your point or do you not have one?
9.35am
“It’s not where you take things from – it’s where you take them to.” by Jean-Luc Godard, stolen by Jim Jarmusch stolen by someone equally as talented for his best selling book – Paul Arden.
9:35am … don’t see how it’s the same at all. Sorry you’re wrong there on all counts.
Dear 11: 35, 11:51 & 11:54 – 9:35 here
your anger and vitriol proves you’re attached to this piece of work. Good, I’m glad you’re listening. And sorry but I will not be fucking off anywhere – your video is WAY similar to the Soul Asylum example!!!
They’re both songs that already existed.
They’re both instances where an advertising person or people saw an opportunity to overlay a track with an issue message/idea for mutual benefit. Neither CRC nor Revolver even met Thom Yorke or anyone in the band, right? Thom saw the finished vid and thought “yeah, how can I argue with that? Let’s go with it”
One big difference however is the fact that Tony Kaye’s effort used actual missing people, archival material, whereas this time it’s a re-enactment. And Tony met the band.
Ok, let’s all pick a song. Then let’s find an issue (one we passionately believe in) that kind of sits well with the song lyrics. Then let’s find a production company willing to finance it. The only difficult part of that excerise is getting it financed.
From memory, the Soul Asylum video picked up Gold at The One Show so you should do well guys. Actually…having said that, the US judges, who tend to be a little more “experienced” will know the Soul Asylum piece well.
There’s my point. Over to you buddy (or buddette).
A really cool anti global warming awareness videoclip was done last year for the cover of the Pink Floyd song. It was done in London.

love this spot. Really emotive.
Good on you CRC guys for slagging everyone off here if they say something remotely negative. Fuck it if they’ve got an opinion hey! You just keep on slagging them off. Good fucking on you.
I think the big thing here is the fact that you got to make a clip for radiohead. That’s pretty damn impressive and that’s where the compliments are due. As for the video clip, yeah it’s OK. Not exactly groundbreaking stuff. A split screen showing two different scenarios. Yep pretty original. As I said you made an ad out of a film clip and that’s what you deserve credit for.
Looking forward to one of you CRC watchdogs giving me shit for not saying it’s the “Best fucking thing the world has ever seen”. x
Okay, on second viewing I think this is great. Only problem is you really need to commit to it and make it to the end. If you do, it’s brilliant. Well done guys.
Buddy I didn’t work on it and think it is great.
Darren
geez louise 1:54 is pretty sensitive.
Darren, in my book anything “great” has to be completely original.
Buddy
Buddy, let’s hope you find God, because had the last original thought.
Darren, do you begin work every time with an inherent acceptance that whatever you create will be derivative?
Buddy
What is the point of your argument 1:54? You seem to have issues.
Also Darren, you’re proving yourself to be a very effective decoy. Similar to the junk that gets spat out of the arse end of a submarine when a torpedo is baring down on it’s stern. Are you totally sure you’re not one of the video clip’s authors or producers?
Buddy
This post has been on here far too long for most normal people to even give a toss. You crazy-ass-fuckers still arguing are on here for the wrong reasons.
Darren? Darren? Stay with me.
Buddy
7:29 is sounding a bit creepy to me. Weirdo alert guys.
Yeah you people are freaks. It’s good. Move on.
juicy piece. There’s always one muppet.
Yeah what a cock that guy is. Well done CRC.
1.54, you sound like a sad fuck.
And no, believe it or not I’m actually not from CRC. I just think you’re a sad fuck.
It’s people like you who make me glad to have left the sorry state of the Australian ad industry. I’ve met you before. You’re some creative has-been who landed a management position by either clawing your way through a multi-national, or in a small start-up of your own, and you feel compelled to slam the hell out of anyone or anything that you percieve to threaten your coveted little piece of paradise which you’ve worked many long nights in a dark alley for. I’ve met you and I hate you. You’re the bitter little fucker that invites someone to lunch and poisons the wine. I bet you’re nice to the guys at CRC. In fact, I’d go so far as to say you probably try to keep a relationship going with them, just so you can bleed information about the company and clients to use in your benile drivel through any chanel you think can get an audience. Like the ass-end of a blog, which you know only attracts 4 types of people: 1. sad fucks like you; 2. the agency or the agency’s friends and clients; 3. people who have done a search – which is where you’re hoping to get your audience; 4. people who check the blog occasionally only to find sad fucks like you swarming over what was a really positive blog like flies on a dogs ass.
Not everyone is like you, sad fuck. I doubt CRC have mobile forces, ready to deploy at the first sign of trouble, who’s only purpose is to squash enemy resistance. They’re a start-up for fuck sake. They probably have about 15 people working their asses off to keep the cogs turning. And the fact that this kind of work, at this scale, was done for this client, is a massive achievement for any agency let along a start-up, no matter distorted lense you’re looking through.
Thanks for highlighting some good work, ass-wipe.
THE END
That watchdog is vicious. It needs to be put down
Yeah they have a whole squadron of military commandos ready to pounce on you.
Get a life and realise you’re in the minority – this is good work and most people like it on here.
Rambo.
Someone has a really bad case of paranoia.
Well point proven. You can’t make a negative comment without being destroyed. All I said was i didn’t think it was particularly original film clip or film device. So shoot me, or call me a sad fuck. Either way I stick by my opinion- it’s a massive achievement to have made an ad into a radiohead clip but i don’t think it’s a particularly original clip.
I guess not many people agree with me. Maybe that’s why i’m so sad.
Sad Fuck
11:22 AM
Sorry, not all of them have been paid. I recommend that you double check that they have been. Just ring the parents, and their agents to find out. Either something dody is happening between you guys and the agents, or some kids are simply not getting paid.
yeah 3:35 maybe that is why you are a sad fuck. One that’s all alone. Get back to that 100 page brochure on hemmeroids. Now.
what now we are onto the cast and who got paid? Geez get a life. I’m sure they all signed contracts.
Every now and then something special appears on here. This ad is special. That’s why people like it. Pretty simple. No conspiracy.
Sergei from the KGB
4:48 PM.
Get a life???
Mate, I’m not involved in this threads juvenile bitchfest. I personally think it’s a fantastic spot, and an amazing cause. I’m just giving the guys concerned a heads up, and an opportunity to get their shit bolted down. Before shit turns ugly.
This spot/music video is about child exploitation / child slave labour, associated with human trafficking. Not paying the kids that appeared in it raises some very serious, serious questions, and will cast a shadow over what could go on to WIN major awards internationally.
If you can’t see the logic in these concerns, or if you think these kids shouldn’t have been paid, yet the production crew agency and all others should, then you are supporting what this add intends to irradiate. Exploitation.
I really think CRC, have done an amazing job with this spot. Congrats all round.
Beautiful stuff.
I had an idea for a follow-up spot, based on the attitudes of a few dogs on this blog. We might need to run it at a kid friendly time though. It goes a little something like this:
We open on an ad wanker sitting at a desk in his comfortable Potts Point studio apartment. He is punching away at the keyboard furiously, we see that he is typing out a post on the Campaign brief blog, which says that he condones child exploitation and slave labour, and that those concerned with it should get a life.
We hear the sound of a door being smashed open. An angry looking guy storms into his apartment, and without saying a word slams a powerful shin kick across the ad wankers jaw (insert SFX: bones violently breaking) knocking him to the ground like a lifeless doll, out cold. Cut to the angry man jumping, and stomping on the ad wanker’s head. Fade to black.
We cut to the angry man, alone in a jail cell. A smug looking guard opens the door and introduces a new cell mate. It’s the blog posting ad wanker, who the guard says has been given a lengthy sentence for child exploitation and slave labour.
Cut to angry man jumping and stomping on the ad wanker’s head once more.
Fade to black.
Super: Child exploitation and slave labour. There’s no place for it.
What do you think????
The endline might need some work.
We might have to run it after 10.00pm.
8:51. All principle cast were paid. All background talent signed contracts/releases as is the norm for charity/PSA projects. All underage cast were treated in accordance with DOCS requirements.
C’mon then 8:51 and 9:10 – you were so full of anger and making threats a moment ago. Got nothing to say now? You are such a gutless moron. Well done Revolver and CRC. Go bury your head in the sand loser.
8:51 is a FUCKING ASSHOLE. GET FUCKED COCKHEAD.
Someone has lost sight of what this ad was made for. It’s not about the prevention of willing, heathy, happy kids appearing in the background of a charity spot; it’s about making people aware of HUMAN TRAFFICKING – the abduction of someone’s freedom and basic human rights. This squabble is insulting to those who have actually suffered at the hands of human trafficking. It’s not a BMW ad; it’s a message about REAL exploitation and I’m sure everyone involved was more than happy be part of making a really worthwhile message – from the production company, to the agency, to the parents of the kids, to the kids themselves. And if the kids aren’t old enough to understand the underlining issue, it’s still 4 minutes of fame – which is probably all happy, healthy kids from loving Australian families really care about at that age anyway. It takes an unusual person to put money before the issue here.
Great stuff – made my children think! Hopefully it will do the same for others.
