Composers + former Lime Cordiale band members Nick Polovineo and Felix Bornholdt join Rumble
Rumble Studios has welcomed talented composing duo Nick Polovineo (left) and Felix Bornholdt (right) to its team.
Polovineo and Bornholdt have built an impressive career in music. Both are graduates of the prestigious Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where they honed their skills in jazz composition, improvisation, and musical storytelling.
They’ve also been an integral part of the acclaimed band Lime Cordiale (pictured below), recording and touring internationally and taking home two ARIA awards. The duo are regular fixtures in Sydney’s pop, jazz and improvised music scenes, both as solo artists and performing alongside some of Australia’s most acclaimed artists. Now, after almost a decade on the road, Felix and Nick are trading in their bunks on the tour bus and bringing their experience and creative energy to Rumble.
Says Michael Gie, EP and Partner at Rumble: “We’re thrilled to have Nick and Felix on board. Their diverse backgrounds have equipped them with an exceptional skill set, blending musicianship with a sharp instinct for memorable hooks and melodic storytelling. Watching them collaborate with each other and our team of composers has been incredible, and we couldn’t be happier to have them with us.”
Both talented composers and musicians in their own right, the pair thrive as a duo and have been composing and performing together for over a decade. With a wide range of skills across brass instruments, synthesisers, guitars, strings and programming, the duo have built a creative partnership that is greater than the sum of its parts.
Says Polovineo: “We really push each other to take ideas further and go for things that we wouldn’t risk if we were working solo.”
With a hand in some of the most successful music to come out of Australia in the last decade, the pair are no strangers to making music that moves people.
Says Bornholdt: “We’ve spent a lot of time on the road, where music is getting worked out at soundchecks, in the back of tour buses and greenrooms” Felix says “so we’re really excited to be working at Rumble, in a studio where we’ve got the time and resources all in one place.”
Says Tone Aston, CD, Sound Designer and Partner at Rumble: “The guys have only been at Rumble for 4 months and they’ve already composed tracks for The AFL 2025 Season Launch “Get In On It”, Realtor.com in the US, BMF’s National Road Safety campaign as well as Luxury Escapes for Rick Barry. To be honest, I’m not sure which I’m loving more, their music or the guys.”
Rumble Studios continues to set a standard for music and sound design in advertising, earning awards like Shots Asia Music and Sound Company of the Year (four years running) and LIA Regional Music and Sound Company of the Year three times. With Polovineo and Bornholdt on board, Rumble is excited for what’s next.
