Who won the Chips?
Last night at The Last Days of Decadence – a subterranean London venue, not a description of advertising in the eighties – the WINNERS of this year’s Chip Shop Awards were announced.
From a light-hearted event set up to take the piss out of D&AD, the Chips has – amazingly – become a truly international event with entrants from around the world. There were Chip finalists from Australia, Germany, South Africa, Thailand, Kuwait, Amsterdam, and Poland.
But, however big the Chip Shop Awards become, it’ll never take itself too seriously. That would miss the point.
Thecompetition was not only hotter than last year but bigger too. Entrieswere up by almost 50%. And the new Chip Shop ‘People’s Choice’ saw over42,000 votes. So thanks must go to everybody out there who cast theirvote online.
