Capgemini folds The Works into frog

Jerome Gaslain, who joined creative agency The Works over 12 months ago as Growth Creation Partner, has announced on LinkedIn that The Works is now officially frog, part of Capgemini Invent. Gaslain, who is now VP of Creative AUNZ, will lead the team

Gaslain wrote on LinkedIn: “The Works and frog have always shared the same passion for creative excellence, strategic growth, and human-centric innovation.

“Now, by uniting our extraordinary teams we are elevating our expertise to fuse strategy, creativity, data, AI and tech to create new dimensions of value for our clients in Australia and worldwide.”

According to Frog’s website the merger aims to bring value to clients by integrating The Works’ creative strength into frog’s globally recognised capabilities, stating: “By uniting our talented teams of strategists, brand experts, product and experience designers, creatives, technologists and data scientists we are positioned to elevate our clients to the next level in Australia and on a global scale—leveraging next-level design, data and tech to deliver game-changing products, services and experiences across physical and digital worlds.”

This news comes eight months after the announcement that The Works was being integrated into parent company Capgemini AUNZ, which saw the departures of founding partner Damian Pincus, partner Douglas Nicol and managing director Julie Dormand. During this time Gaslain (pictured below) was appointed to oversee the integration.

Shortly after, Gaslain told CB in an exclusive interview: “What Damian, Kev, and Douglas created 22 years ago is remarkable, with a rock-solid culture and unwavering passion. As we step into this new chapter, it’s essential for me to lead an evolution that builds on that foundation. Both our staff and clients recognize the need for change, but we’re committed to preserving the core DNA that has always defined The Works while embracing Capgemini added values.

When asked about what opportunities he sees emerging from the integration, Gaslain said: “The opportunities are vast. With Capgemini’s global reach, access to specialists across all sectors, and an extensive pool of data and research, we are well-positioned for growth. Despite its size, Capgemini has maintained a people-first approach, which is a significant advantage. Thanks to the group, we can invest in various AI platforms and attract talented individuals with new skills, enhancing our efficiency, creativity, and cost-effectiveness. We are also well-positioned to provide end-to-end solutions in tech and digital transformation for Capgemini’s existing clients. The group expertise in the public sector and sustainability remains unparalleled.”

The Works has been a force in the Australian ad scene for over 20 years. It was founded in 2002 by Damian Pincus and Kevin Macmillan, initially operating out of a campervan.
