Can John West bear another poster campaign?

John West has always endured the worst to bring you the best. In this new Grey Melbourne campaign for John West Salmon they recognise those that will go to any lengths to get the best.

I’m not a bear but I don’t think they really care about the quality of their tuna. I know. It’s an ad. It’s meant to be fun. But if bears are anything like dogs, they’ll eat their own shit if they’re hungry.

Just as well you’re not a bear, because you’d end up pretty hungry swimming around looking for tuna in a Canadian or Alaskan river.
So, what you’re saying is that John West has stolen all the bears’ fish
and now he has to buy it.
Who shot it??
Great work
Hmm, bit complicated. Not sure what the message is?? Don’t really get it and not sure anyone outside of advertisng will have time to puzzle over visual connundrums will either. That said, nicely shot, but not the best for JW.
Seriously. I don’t get it. Why is this bear swimming across a river, with a hemp knitted bag, filled with tuna cans? Archive, circa 1989 good place to start?!?
Sorry to swear, but what the fuck does it mean?
And why would you ever even put another bear in a John West ad?
Is this really a campaign or is it just the same idea executed again and again in slightly varying ways?
Looks like the underwater section is a swimming pool?
Seems obvious to me. The bear wants the best, so it gets JW.
CAMPERS PLEASE NOTE: All food must be locked away in the storage bins at night to avoid attracting bears and wildlife. Fore more information please contact ground staff.
Idea’s not that hot, but the art direction and shot is very cool.
Must be menstuation in those tins.
Is this really the actual ad or just the agency award entry execution?
I doubt the client would let this go with a packshot on it.
1. Had success with Pelican John West ad in ad festivals.
2. Repeat ad but with different animal.
3. Add bling art direction.
4. Enter to awards show.
5. Timely PR it a few weeks before short-listings are released.
What is under the water? Something metal with a suitcase handle?
